Other projects have included outreach coordination and an apprenticeship in Artistic Direction with Driftwood Theatre, and acting for three seasons with Halifax's Shakespeare By The Sea.
In 2016 she returned to Toronto after two years in Montreal attending the National Theatre School of Canada's prestigious Directing Program. While at NTS, Carly directed Jon Fosse's I am the wind, The Agony of a Groaning Door and Vacuum by Rachel Ganz, assisted Alisa Palmer on Caryl Churchill's Love and Information and Hamlet and directed Lucy Peacock in Samuel Beckett's Happy Days.
